José D’Almeida photographs transport us to a surreal, satirical and baroque universe. José graduated in Design and Graphic Arts, but it is a man of many trades. He reached photography as a natural extension of painting. José sees drawing, painting and photography as a cathartic, religious and existential experience. He approaches the creative process both through thought and intuition.
In many of his works, we discover him as master and disciple, photographer and model, real person and character. He also meticulously creates the scenarios, as installations that are subsequently recorded. His images have a high visual load, full of intense colors, life and symbolism. Their brutal surrealism stirs our emotions to the core.
