I've always been fascinated by the human mind. I enjoy exploring the geneses of what makes people who they are, and why they behave the way they do, myself included. As a storyteller I use the iconic symbols, colors and characters of my dreams to personify elements of the human psyche. Joy and despair, hope and fear, I explore the whimsical to the macabre and with each image I ask the viewer if they recognize a small part of themselves.
I work with performers and dancers rather than professional models, they bring their unique creativity to each shoot and are adept at portraying a wide range of emotions with ease. I approach my photography like collaborative filmmaking, but the stories I'm telling are told in single frames. These stories often do not have a defined beginning or end so the viewer is invited to fill in the blanks with their own feelings and experiences.
Never take dreams for granted or discard them without some introspection. They both reflect and guide who we are.
