Jack Savage is a fine art photographer and digital artist from England. He went to the Nottingham University, where he obtained a MA in American Studies and Film. He is also a certified expert in Adobe Photoshop CC and a Photoshop trainer. Throughout the duration of 2017 - 2018 Jack have concentrated his work into two main series:
The first 'Noirisms' 2017-18 - is a set of manipulated portraits, landscapes and other shots designed to invoke his own cinematic visions, with a strong homage to the cinema of Film Noir (1920 - 60), and the early horror movies of the same era. His influences for this series were more cinematic than photographic.
The second series 'Psychedelic Cinema' 2017-18 - Jack encompasses a mix of studio portraits with psychedelic digital creations - harking back to his years as a rare record seller of underground music 1950-1975. For this series he was inspired by iconic albums and quite often, the album artworks themselves. Many musical genres were explored and devoured. From the doo wop of the 1950-early 60's, to the northern soul music of the late 60's, through to the roaring psychedelica and krautrock of the late 1960's - all have influenced his artistic visions and designs.
