First came the Fantastic Four, a superhero team probably most famous for the grumpy, rock-skinned Thing. Following that success Lee and Marvel introduced such characters as Spider-Man, the Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, the X-Men, Daredevil, and many other fictional characters, introducing a thoroughly shared universe into superhero comic books.

I never thought that Spider-Man would become the worldwide icon that he is. I just hoped the books would sell and I'd keep my job, Lee said in 2006.

On 16 July 2017, Lee was named a Disney Legend, a hall of fame program that recognizes individuals who have made an extraordinary and integral contribution to The Walt Disney Company.

RIP Stan Lee

Wood sculptures by Tach Pollard

Tach Pollard, a wood sculpture from England, has always loved trees. The woodlands offered him a wonderland of organically shaped roots for him to pull out of the ground. It was not until later in his life that he began to carve some of the wood he had collected. He focuses on sculpting wood and he occasionally carves woodblocks for printing. His sculptures are inspired by the wood itself with hints of European Folklore, mystery traditions, and mythology.

Tower to the People by Italian street artist Eron

"Tower to the People" in Santarcangelo (Rimini), to celebrate the triumph of peace by Italian street artist Eron

The work, a monument depicting a set of flowers that form a fist raised to the sky, expresses, with all its grandeur, the power of delicacy, the power of non-violence, the victory of kindness, the love against hatred , the intensity of poetry, the perfection of harmony, the desire for freedom and peace of people. A poetic, silent and at the same time disruptive work

“About being alone together”

The human body never fails to impress and surprise me. - Mehran Djojan

Kabul-born, Berlin-based photographer Mehran Djojan, captures beautiful conceptual portraits that explore the dreamlike realm of his imagination.

Although often surreal in scope, the images appear effortlessly natural; they evoke emotion through the expressiveness of the subjects’ faces and bodies within the environment, rather than overly contrived, digitally manipulated tropes of the genre.
