Spanish photographer Ana Junko captures the minimalistic beauty of the world in monochrome. In her series Mare Magnum and In Honor of the Shadows, she explores the tranquility of the ocean and the interplay between light and darkness.
Ana started experimenting with chemical photography in art school. She feels her images have inherited a distinctive analogical appearance from this unique experience. For her, black and white photography provides greater freedom for interpretation. She is not interested in a literal depiction of the world, but on the myriad of possible subjective interpretations. In her work, transmitting her personal vision and sensations comes before technical perfection and the technology of capture.
Her current projects include a series that reflects the effect of time, using long exposure to create silent, lyrical landscapes.
